Hot cross buns is an Easter cake typical of the United Kingdom. It consists of a spiced sweet bun with raisins which has a cross on the surface, which is traditionally eaten on Good Friday.

È una torta di pasta frolla farcita al suo interno principalmente da ricotta ed altre bontà, caratterizzata dall'essere croccante fuori e morbida dentro. Il profumo ed il sapore si differenzia a seconda delle spezie e degli aromi utilizzati per il ripieno.
Nella ricetta classica gli aromi utilizzati sono la cannella, i canditi, acqua ai fiori d'arancio, e vaniglia, oggi però ne esistono anche delle rivisitazioni con altri ingredienti.
